A number of Louise Brooks’ films were fictionalized or published as a movie tie-in or photoplay edition.Typically, photoplay editions were reprints of novels or other non-fiction books (like Jim Tully’s Beggars of Life) additionally illustrated with scenes from a film, or which features related cover art. Sometimes, films were also turned into short stories or novellas (short novels) and published in magazines which resembled booklets or pamphlets. This page presents a gallery of many of the Louise Brooks photoplay editions and fictionalizations in the collection of the Louise Brooks Society. The following stand-alone publications were issued as either a hardback book or soft cover booklet / pamphlet, or similar magazine-style format.
